Convention of Rights Of the Child

Image
After reading the Convention of Rights Of the Child, in both written and in photo essay form; I have realized there are clear differences between the two, even though they contain the same information. The text version is a very lengthy document that spells out all of the rights of children all over the world.   It covers basic human rights and protections that each child in the world should be entitled to. With so much information to cover, and to communicate the entire scope of very specific children’s rights, the document, of course, has to be very thorough and lengthy.   As important as this information is, the reader may read it line by line in the beginning, but then skim over the balance of the document, once they realize how lengthy it is.   While the information listed clearly spells out very specific children’s rights, it does not communicate the rights with emotion.   It lists things more in a matter of fact way.The photo essay has a far stronger e...

Violent Media, Killer or just Misunderstood?

Image
P roponents of violent media state, that any child who is exposed to violent media turns into some kind of monster, however in reality there are a few violent offenders who were driven by violence in media. In fact, assuming that all violence should be sheltered from children does more harm that violent media itself. A form of media that is highly misunderstood and labelled as violent is metal music, in which is also my favorite. Metal music is a form of relief, in which people release bottled up emotions that are pushed down by every day life, but with its violent sounds and angry tones, it is labelled as violent, which is the complete opposite. The exposure of violence to children in the proper form is healthy and needed for their growth, although sheltering children from any form of violence, will disrupt their emotionally adaption to serious situations they will face when they grow older. Exposing violent media can be harmful, and have driven students to school shootings and other...

Lets Argue!

Image
When people argue, they are intending to persuade the opposing arguer. A very positive way of arguing, is if the opposing person, respects and understands your arguments. Unfortunately most people with the intent to argue, are left with a person who is not willing to understand your views, and or giving no factual evidence at all. An argument is having a reason to prove, or persuade that you are right from either parties. My problem is, that when i'm arguing I am usually the only side  giving factual evidence. Therefore i am basically arguing with a wall. When I argue I want to have a mature discussion, where both sides are respecting each others views and are learning from each other. When going into an argument, you should always keep an open mind, and have prepared factual evidence, because you might end changing your mind afterwords.
